Open Studio II

We got up early on Friday. 8:00 am comes too soon after you have stayed up until 4:00. It was raining. YUCK! Was this going to detour the festivities of the Open Studio, Hell No! We had to run errands and pick up a few things. First stop is pick up cups for the jell-o shots. Then the post office, to mail taxes. While we were out Charles called and asked if we wanted to do breakfast. Since we were close, we picked up Charles and headed for Egg Cetra. (I could have breakfast for lunch and dinner. I Love it) Breakfast was very enjoyable, here I was sitting with the two woofiest men in the room, and shoveling chocolate chip pancakes into my face.

We finished breakfast at 11:00 and that was a little longer than we had planned for. There is still so much to do at the studio and only a few hours to do it in. When we got back to the studio it was work, work, work. gryphons_hole started the jell-o shots, while I was busy finding a place for everything. I believe that I have OCD, but it is a kind of organizational OCD. I hoovered the studio and laid the area rugs created a sitting area. I put a tarp to hide the stuff that was supposed to be invisible. About 5:00 gryphons_hole started hanging his art on the walls. The first few visitor started trickling in about 6:10. Gryphon was till hanging art. "Come on in.. we are just finishing up a few loose ends."

The whole building was a buzz. I have never see it so busy. I met so many people. There were most of the artist that Gryphon had mentioned over the years. It was really interesting to see if they actually fit with what I was expecting. I should have taken more pictures, Damn! I took several of the studio during Friday night, but I think it is better if gryphons_hole posts them, after all it was his studio show.

Todd, Raphael, Bill, Michael & Michael, after a while I lost track. The hit of course was the jell-o shots; Cape Cods, Melon balls, Blue Blueberries, Amaretto Apricot. Besided the shots there were Pixy Stix and Twinkies. There was so much sugar in that studio we were bouncing.

The Open Studio was over at 10:30 and by 11:00 most of the pedestrian had left the building and it was mostly the artist and family & friends.

Lots of great artwork. I look forward to the next one, now that I know what to expect.
