Turkey Day.

I got up early enough to make broccoli cheese rice casserole that Rex's Mom request for me to make every year. We got to Rex's parents house about 11:45. It is more of a lunch thing with them. The turkey was all cooked and cut up on a platter. The Macy's parade was on the TV and we were the first to arrive. About 10 minutes later Rex's sister and brother-in-law showed up. They unloaded side dishes and pies from the car to the kitchen. Since Sissy works (day care) at home she has time to bake and cook. Rex's Mom showed up about 10 minutes later. She had gone up to the nursing home to get Rex's Grandmother. (Later we were both surprised that when Grandma got there, that she was actually there and knew who we were.) There was light conversation and then we sat at the table to eat. There was turkey, dressing, mashed potatoes, cream cheese corn, Waldorf salad, cranberry/grape salad, orange jello, broccoli rice casserole, gravy, and the nasty green-bean casserole (phft). For dessert there was pumpkin, lemon and pecan pie. After eating we seem like the plates were no sooner off the table and everyone was on their way out the door.... I think we were back at the house by 13:30 or 14:00. Talk about a quickie!

Rex had made plans with Mikey to go over to his house for dinner. That was cool with me. Mikey was a good guy who lives alone and was not going anywhere for Thanksgiving. We headed over to Mikey's house about 16:40. It is about a 20 minute drive and by the time we got there Mikey had dinner on the table all but the ham...... There was ham, turkey, dressing, mashed potatoes, broccoli rice casserole, gravy, rolls and the nasty green-bean casserole (phft). After dinner we sat on the couch and watched Family Guy and some other TV shows..... We left Mikey's house about 22:30.

Green Bean Casserole
I can't believe so many bears don't like green bean casserole! LOL. ;) I'm VERY glad you could both come over and eat with me. You made it a very special Turkey Day for me.

All the best...

Mikey ;)
